I was thinking the other day, how do you truly embrace the conscious shift when all around us theres loss of jobs and such a battle to find work.. While kids are brainwashed from the television and their ipods, having such a larger number of society unaware of the true connection between our true connection from nature. I'm one of the millions of American's looking for work, you really see how dependent you are on this life and honestly it brings in negative feelings.

I'm a strong believer in 'Law of Attraction" and in no way do I want to harbor negativity, but its a struggle in todays world. I'm strong by nature, but the whole loss of job and no set path its hard too see whats next. Ive read that a 1/5 of college students will find jobs for their major or less.. I feel that the recession needed to happen, to come back stronger but in the run ahead its hurt a lot of family and friends in the process.. Reading through the posts it would be nice to find people with similar beliefs, we can have our downs, but our true nature resides in all of us. My issue is I'm clashing, the free spirit needs to pay the bills to have the cell phone and the fun car ha.. If anyone has thoughts or there struggles, on how your managing through 'trying times' respond. I wish the best for all of you, love and peace :)!

I'm definitely going through my version of the same thing, and through a lot of confusion, fear and pain I have witnessed more and more clarity coming forth. I was recently fired from a job (working at a raw food restaurant of all things) that I didn't even want to be at, because the way it was running was out of alignment with my truth (I just thought that I had to be there for money). The blessing of having little money is that it has helped me to dig deep inside and find out what is REALLY important and valuable to me and what are my true passions? It's been a great time to whittle down my material possessions (which, for me, clearing my physical space always helps give me clairity in my thoughts) to what I really use and enjoy.
While the economy is crashing because businesses are out of balance with life, certain companies are being birthed from the compost, like Elements For Life, which are based on human connections, sacred nutrition, sustainable fair trade agriculture and other Earth friendly values. I'm personally excited about working with others as a team creating win-win-win scenarios, as I can no longer work for life sucking machines just for money.

Michael,

Thank you for this honest post and I too share your sentiments. I have just recently found some part time work that has provided a much needed momentum in the pursuit of other pt jobs and feeling more hopeful about my financial future, and like you, trying against so many obstacles to remain positive. But the fact is that I still cannot even come close to paying all of my monthly bills and if it were not for a modest savings account, I would be living back home with mom, at age 49! I have fantasies about just retreating to some sacred place and meditating for world peace, thinking that this may be the most effective way for me to 'make a difference'! Then again, the need to earn money for survival is ever present. I find solace in spiritual pursuits (currently taking an online course from Daily OM about creating your own reality) as I need to be constantly reminded of universal truths in a world of confusing information overload, propaganda and negativity. Meditation helps too, and I am slowly trying to make friends with this practice!!! I think it is key to surround yourself with as many uplifting thoughts, people and events as possible... that will serve to keep you in an optimistic frame of mind. I hope this forum here can do this for all of us!

Blessings and Abundance to You!

Hello my dear friends!

I will be plain and simple. You and I are all something greater than the body we possess. This is fact. What that something is is defined as spirit. We are all spirits, doing SOMETHING or another. What it is that we do is and can only be in direct relation to the source of which our spirits sprang. For, somewhere along the line of eternity existed a time of non-eternity where there was no conscious existence. But, fortunately for you and I, SOMETHING kick started our existence and has been at work ever since. Like the sun and the moon, rising and setting. Or a tree growing and dying and regrowing again. These all most of originated from one source and that source is what some would call God. I specifically like to call Him Krshna.

So again, since He is the grand essence of all of us and we are parcels of Him then it is our duty that we surrender ourselves to Him in full devotion. For nothing attainable in this physical realm is more satisfying than knowing and loving God. Yes we slave everyday for other men and still do not receive happiness. But, our Father asks us simply to chant His name (either in your head or aloud). "Hare Krshna Hare Krshna Krshna Krshna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare". That is the Krshna mantra and if it is chanted at least twelve times we will begin to receive our transcendental relationship with our Father and gain true happiness.

Why and how? By chanting the mantra (His Name) repeatedly, we are bringing Him into our lives more and more. And if He is with us then all can be well for He who has created all enjoys all. Therefore, if Krshna is with you when you have no money or a lot of money, then you will be in happiness for only the one who has created true happiness may bestow it upon us. He loves when we are happy and we should love Him for this.

So Chant Hare Krshna and life will be bliss!

Hey Micheal, I'm also in the same boat, so you are not alone. The only thing that I really found helped me is to focus on the task at hand whatever that may be. I found learning more about the earth and understanding how to become less reliant on the grid really helped me focus my frustration to produce a positive outcome. Also understanding your learned desire from greed (not you specifically but our cultural system taught us greed starting from an early age). I found it was very easy to give up things that I viewed as essential to a happy life with no real loss to my level of happiness...in some regards it actually benefited me.

Another thing I found really helpful was regular meditation...there are tons of videos on the net that help with it...check out http://www.multidimensions.com/...if you are not familiar with this yet I hope you keep an open mind...all the best and I hope this is of some use knowing you aren't alone....
~Namaste
